Why did I write a book on "e-Government in Ecuador"?
While completing my master's degree, I did extensive research on electronic government strategies in developing countries economies. E-government allows developing countries to see the opportunity for a levelled playing field with developed countries. Take Brazil, for example, the trendsetters in terms of e-government in Latin America and now sixth largest economy in the world. As an Ecuadorian, it was hard not to take the chance to find out what Ecuador's e-government initiatives would mean for my country.
Who is the book for?
My book on "e-Government in Ecuador" is written for a general audience and evaluates Ecuador's e-government program. A program that has the potential of increasing transparency, efficiency, affordability and accessibility of government services and democratic processes.
What does my book cover?
My book evaluates Ecuador's current e-Government plan, which is still being implemented, also exposes future challenges due to IT, business vs. government, and social problems. And provides possible solutions for Ecuador's program by assessing and comparing best practices.
